Christians believe that the death of Jesus on the cross is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to save the souls of the human. This is the sacrifice that no one can ever replace. In times of death of family member, we pay respect to the dead. As a sign of respect, we tend to prepare so well the wake and the funeral. It is a sacrifice as well to the family and friends left behind to give a peaceful memorial to their dead relative.
I am a Christian my whole life. I was baptized as a Christian, I went to a Catholic school from elementary to college. Basically, I was raised to be a Christian and I am happy with it. I live the life of a Christian. I have attended a lot of memorials from different religions. I have noticed one thing, the preparations for the funeral are the same, although with different religions, there is one thing I always see, it is the respect they give to the dead. It is this one thing that I appreciate the most, we may have different religions, but we always respect our dead relatives or friends.
Saying goodbye to a loved one is the hardest thing on earth especially when you know that you will never see that person again for the rest of your life. One cannot even fathom the fact that you are mourning and at the same time preparing for the funeral and memorial. Preparing a funeral could be hard for the family who are grieving. You are thinking of a lot of things and preparing is only a part of it. you will have to think of the food to prepare, the garments that the deceased will wear, and you also have to meet and talk with those who pay their respects.
The thought saying goodbye is hard, but the hardest part is to prepare the funeral of your loved one. You do not want to think of anything else but to let yourself grieve. Grieve for the loss of that loved one because it will be the last time you will see him or her.
These days, there are funeral services who can do all the preparations and you will just let yourself grieve. Several funeral parlours offer different kinds of service for different religions. A Christian funeral parlour usually takes into consideration the deceased’s wishes and if none the wishes of the family. Some funeral parlours offer a space where the family can have their wake. It comes with the services that these parlours offer.
Preparing a memorial differ in every religion. It is a workload because you will have to think of the things to be done. Working with a funeral coordinator will help you lessen the burden you have to shoulder. A Christian memorial service usually takes place after the body is already buried or a service where the body is not present. The memorial service is prepared by the family where a mass is held and after which a eulogy will take place.
