Life is unpredictable. That is why it is crucial to get ready for any incidents that may happen. As a building owner, your number one enemy is fire. It can not only get rid of your assets but also the lives staying at your premises.

To prevent that, hire experts in fire safety engineering and apply these ways. Doing so would keep everything safe and sound.

  1. TALK WITH THE TENANTS ABOUT THE FIRE ESCAPE PLAN.

As soon as the renovation of your building ends, make sure to discuss everything with your tenants.

Let them know what fire escape plan they should take note of and the things you talk about with the fire engineering to prevent fire hazards.

  1. PLACE THE FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT EVERYWHERE.

Besides placing smoke alarms, control panels, and fire extinguishers, you should also let your tenants know how they work. Doing so would give them more peace of mind.

And to further prevent fire hazards, ask the fire engineering in Singapore if they could show your tenants how to use a fire extinguisher. Also, send out clips so others who were absent on the demo day would still know what to do.

  1. SET UP A DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA.

Set up as many as you can since there are quite a lot of smokers in Singapore. Thus, setting a few of these would prevent them from smoking inside their workplace that could cause a fire.

To convince you more why this one matters, here is a fire incident that happened a few years back.

  1. GET A PROPER TRASH DISPOSAL.

Fire can happen even in waste materials. That is why you should dispose of them properly. Make sure not to discard them away from flammable items like papers and fabrics.

If you think your building does not have an engineered smoke control system or a mass engineered timber in Singapore, let SHEVS IFT Consultants help you. Just give them a call +65 6812 1399, so they could lend you a hand right away.
